The Morality of Mrs Dulska

A fiercely funny Polish classic about public respectability and private hypocrisy, staged 120 years after its premiere by firstlight theatre and Copernicana CIC.

The story
on stage.

Aniela Dulska fiercely protects her family’s public respectability while concealing the exploitation and cruelty inside her own household. Gabriela Zapolska’s razor-sharp comedy turns domestic order into a theatre of hypocrisy, power and self-deception.

Staged 120 years after the play’s premiere, this firstlight and Copernicana production used Teresa Murjas’s translation and brought together Stratford and Warwickshire theatre-makers with international artists.
