Do Not Forget Me

A family story of deportation, survival and the persistence of memory, shaped through ensemble performance, transformation and restraint.

The story
on stage.

Beginning in eastern Poland in 1935, Do Not Forget Me follows one family through Soviet invasion, dispossession and forced labour in Kazakhstan. The story moves from home to camp and forest, asking what family, identity and memory can survive when a whole world is taken away.

The play is rooted in the 1940 deportations and was dedicated to their victims and families, including Masewicz’s birth mother, Iza, and grandmother, Jadwiga. It was the first production of the second play in A Polish Trilogy.
